Holyhead Field Schools - 2013 & 2014

In 2013 & 2014, MADU ran a couple of E-learning recording & surveying skills days on Anglesey for the Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS). The theory elements of the weekends were held in a classroom at the Sea Cadets head-quarters in Holyhead while the practical sitework was held on the beach at the eastern end of the Stanley Embankment closed to Valley.

On this beach is the wreck of a vessel that was initially unknown, however following research the full history and story leading up to how this wreck came to have been abandoned at this site has been uncovered by MADU, and the name of the vessel has been revealed to be that of the Thora.
